About
Prestancia
Villa Bellagio is a magnificent home for the discerning golfer with
2 pristine courses to play. You may even drive your own cart
to the golf course! Greens on the TPC Course have recently
been replaced with new ultra-dwarf, mini-Verde grass which provides
members with an additional 4 -6- weeks of good playing conditions
each year. Situated on 565 lush, sylvan acres in Sarasota, Fla., the
Tournament Players Club at Prestancia
represents the quintessential golf and residential community created
with great care and attention to balance and detail.
The present club is a combination of old and new, created in 1984
when the PGA TOUR took over The Country Club of Sarasota and added
to its existing 18 holes a second 18-hole championship layout
designed by Mike Souchak and Ron Garl.
The Stadium Course, the fourth in the TPC network, is a
traditional TPC layout that melds signature TPC characteristics with
the designers' personal philosophies. Open areas behind the greens
frame the holes and temper the traditional stadium mounding look.
Short holes have more demanding greens and longer ones more gentle.
The fairways are generous. One-third of the holes features water
hazards, while bunker use is varied but reserved. Old stands of
trees add to the challenge on the 6,927-yard, par-72 design.
While swimming and tennis are also available in a community
conveniently located less than two miles from the ocean, the TPC at
Prestancia is devoted to the pursuit of golf, an experience
complemented by a grand, Mediterranean style clubhouse and generous
multi-purpose practice facility.
